Event in Salvador brings 161 Members together for a tribute to their 25 years of service

In 2003, 1,000 members celebrated 25 years of service with the Odebrecht Group. Now, in 2010, that number is expected to reach 2,100. The Annual Tribute Program (PHA 25 Years) is held to honor the people who have reached this major milestone at a get-together aimed at valuing, recognizing and rewarding their dedication.

PHA 25 Years is held in the Brazilian city of Salvador, Bahia, and lasts three days. One of the highlights that people often find the most moving part of the event is when members and their families visit the Odebrecht Culture Center (NCO) and leaf through the book that contains the names of everyone who has completed 25 years with the Group. On the last evening of PHA 25 Years, a special ceremony awaits the honorees and their companions: Emílio Odebrecht, Chairman of the Board of Odebrecht S.A., together with Marcelo Odebrecht, President and CEO of Odebrecht S.A., and the Group’s Entrepreneurial Leaders (CEOs), hand out the 25-year medals. It is followed by a celebratory dinner and a show.

Many members were living their dream of visiting Salvador. Others had traveled by plane for the first time. All the 2009 honorees felt the thrill and satisfaction of taking part in such a special event. It was held at a hotel on Stella Maris Beach from December 8 to 10, and brought together 161 Odebrecht members, who each shared that moment with a member of their family.

In addition to Emílio Odebrecht and Marcelo Odebrecht, the CEOs present were Bernardo Gradin (Braskem), Paul Altit (OR) and Fernando Reis (Foz do Brasil). Jorge Mitidieri and Luis Felli represented Miguel Gradin (OOG) and José Carlos Grubisich (ETH). The CEOs from Engineering & Construction who took part included Benedicto Júnior, Luis Mameri and Luiz Rocha; Estevão Timponi and Enio Silva representared CEOs Euzenando Azevedo and Henrique Valladares.

The 161 honorees in 2009 included 80 from Braskem, 69 from Engineering & Construction and 12 from ETH, OR, Foz do Brasil, OOG and Odebrecht S.A. Each received their 25-year medal from their CEO and Emílio and Marcelo Odebrecht.
