At organizations like Odebrecht, where operations are decentralized, it is key to disseminate knowledge in a capillary fashion through our companies and projects. We do not operate processes. People equipped with skills and knowledge, and constant communication between them, are the bedrock of our business. Therefore, sharing knowledge translates into improving efficiency.
The Knowledge Communities were created precisely with that aim in mind: to make that knowledge flow continuously, quickly and effectively through all the Group’s environments. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure people’s increasingly effective involvement in the events the Knowledge Communities propose to offer. It is just as important for young people to get involved, because, when their time comes, they will become new vectors of knowledge.
From May 25 to 28, the 16th International Road Federation World Meeting will be held in Lisbon. This event will be an extremely important way for the Odebrecht Roadways Community to obtain fresh knowledge. Members of this community will take part in several forums during the conference in Portugal, so we can disseminate new information throughout the Odebrecht Group afterwards.
In the second half of 2010, we will hold the 4th Roadways Community Meeting, which is expected to take place in the United States and involve local agencies related to that sector. These events will give us unique opportunities to share and hone our knowledge for the purpose of adding value to information, ideas and impressions that can make the difference for our
organization.
